Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Nasi Padang. Lots berlado n gulai. Long lines though if you dont want them serve at table."
"Always wanted to give this place a try after looking at it's stellar reviews and I finally got the chance. Upon reaching my turn, the abang immediately scooped some acar and taugeh as well as a good dose of their kuah onto my rice. I picked the ayam goreng, telor goreng, paru goreng and also their famous beef rendang to complete my meal. I also helped myself to 2 plates of their sambal merah and sambal ijo. Overall, the kuah and curry were not overpowering in its taste and spiciness. Good for those who have a milder palate. The beef rendang leaned more towards the sweeter end and like the kuah, it wasn't overly strong in it's aromatics and spices. The beef was tender enough with a good bounce to it. The ayam goreng was okay but the paru goreng was a good addition with its crunch. Both the sambal were great compliment to my rice dish although one may dislike the oiliness. Overall, I would say that the nasi padang and its dishes here tasted more like a home cooked meal with it's balanced flavors."
"If you are looking for nasi padang, this is the place that you should give a try. The dishes served here are padang authentic with a little adjustment to fit the local palate. The rendang dish whether beef or chicken, it's a must have. My favourite here is the ikan masak tauchu. Don't forget about their red and green sambal."
"Clean restaurant with average taste of nasi padang. The price is very affordable. Definitely will comeback to have lunch"
"Lunch with my friends. Nasi Padang. The taste is real good."
"This Nasi Padang in Taman Medan Maju Jaya attracts a queue as early as 12 noon. But it is orderly and moves quite fast. I noticed many people ordering the Ikan Keli but as it was my first time there, I asked the friendly server what he would recommend. Rendang Daging was what he recommended without hesitation and that's what I ordered. I topped it up with a Telor Masin. Along with the free side of beansprouts and Acar Timbun I added a a small side of Terung Balado. All that and a Teh Ais Kosong cost RM 11.80 which I thought was very reasonable. The rendang was indeed very tasty and the Acar Timbun was a nice palate cleanser. Overall, the food was good. It was also nice to see this old gentleman in an apron, whom I assume is the owner/chef moving around the tables greeting people and asking about the food. Such a nice touch. Would I recommend it? Yes. The food is very reasonable and delicious too. The staff across the board were all polite and friendly. So definitely, if you're in the area, do give it a try."
"Go to place for authentic Nasi Padang with Rahmah pricing. They have wide variety of padang dishes and they all taste good. I found this place to be better tasting than the padang restaurants in Medan."
"Food taste was authentic Minang as per menu title “Rendang Minang Hj Eddy”. It was the reason for today’s visit, the rendang, and it was awesome. The nasi campur was not self-service, so the hygiene of the lauk was kept at good condition. Considering no flies flying around at the time it was served and food serving process is fast as mamak’s nasi kandar stall. Maybe the owner can consider to arrange the lauk in heated shelves. Location to access the restaurant is easy, parking might be a bit an issue during lunch hour. Anyway, the rendang is so good & the price is reasonable. Recommended to try their beef rendang."
